Facing an entire house downsizing can be overwhelming. Start with these small steps that will go a long way to help you de-clutter. So as to not get overwhelmed start with 30 minutes or less on these items.
1. Condense your closet.
Set the timer for 30 minutes and set out two bins. One bin for donations or consignment and the other in the trash bin. If you haven’t worn it, toss it in one of the bins. The same process can be repeated one drawer at a time. When the timer goes off. You’re done.
2. Purge towels/linens/sheets.
Again, 30 minute timer and go. Set your new linens to one side and make a pile of old linens you no longer us, mismatched items, stained or otherwise not being used items. Place them in a bag and off to the donation or recycling bin in your area.
3. Kitchen Sink-Oh My!
Look under the kitchen sink, set that timer and remove everything and give it a good cleaning. After you have cleaned underneath the sink, sort out the supplies you actually use all the time and that are full. If you are moving soon, use up your old supplies and pack up carefully so they won’t spill in transit. Return tools, supplies and other items to their proper place until you are ready to move.
